Weather, Cats and Plans

The weather here is pretty crappy at the moment! I have been pleased that I have been able to just relax though! I have hockey again tonight but I am a little worried about getting injured again. I think I might just go to the gym instead as this is still only pre-season. Although, skills training is so much fun, I don't really want to miss it so maybe I will go!

I was cat sitting again last night! It was really nice! I was on my own and it gave me time to relax and think. I feel that over the past few months I haven't had much of a chance to think about life and things that are going on. Especially as next week I won't get too much time to myself as I'm going away with my bfs pretty large family. It's going to be great fun though.

I am really keen to do as little as possible when I get back from that though as it really has been a manic year. I think it's time to think about what lies ahead and plan a little. Obviously not on the man front as men are so unreadable it's frustrating. At least with women you know where you are!!! You men out there have it easy! Anyway, I need to think about what lies ahead work wise as I am still temping. Although long term, I have to accept that my position may not be needed after Xmas and then I will be left in rather an unwanted predicament! I am still really hoping they need me though! Fingers crossed!

Other than all that, I have a Twinkle meet on Thurday which should be fun. Gotta say I am a little nervous as I can get pretty shy meeting new people. It's also pretty strange as we all kinda know eachother to speak to but will we be as talkactive face to face! I guess we shall find out...

Right, that's all for now.

Hockey!

On Tuesday Night I joined a hockey club. What's so great about that you may ask?Well, I haven't played in over 10 years and I although slim, I am not that fit! I was very nervous as I chose to do it alone! So I didn't know anyone and had no clue how I was going to fair! I got there a little early in order to meet some people. I was so shy! Strange for me! Although confidence isn't exactly on a high at the moment!

I was introduced to a few people and then we began fitness training. It was a lot of sprinting and I felt like I was going to die! We were then split into our groups and it was time for some skills training. This I loved! I have always enjoyed playing hockey and skills was always the most fun part to me!

We then went into a mini game, by which time I was knackered. I could barely run! Although I was glad it was over, I had a smashing time and really look forward to the next session. I was complimented on my abilities by the coach which was encouraging considering I haven't played in over 10 years. I have my first match on the 13th September which will be a real challenge.

If there was one thing I have learnt from Tuesday, is that I am faaarrrr from fit! I can hardly walk at the moment and I have the trials on Saturday! What to do!!! Between now and the 13th, I have to do a lot of training to get up to scratch. Tonight I am going to go for a run and then go to the gym every day if I can for a bit of training!

No one said it was gonna be easy!!!

Bank Holiday Weekend in Brugges!

I had a simply wonderful Bank Holiday weekend! I went to Bruges with my bf. The first holiday of the year where it was just me and him. What can I tell you about Bruges... Hmmmm....

Well... Bruges is beautiful. Despite being so small, it has 27 Churches (or so the man on the boat told us). Considering there was a church round most corners, I would say he was probably telling the truth. Other than churches, there were lots of chocolate and lace shops everywhere. The chocolate shops were funny as some of them sold chocolate boobs, willies and even vaginas (which I found totally gross!) I had to take a pic of these as no one would believe me otherwise! And the worst part was they were in the window for all to see. I would hate to be a mother explaining that to my 5 year old lol!

First thing we did was to go on the canal boat ride, which was great! There were some breath taking sights that could only really be appreciated on this type of trip and it was a great way to have a quick tour of the city before we decided on where to go and what to see. There were swans and ducks on the embankments and as we sailed past one of the housed, there was a Golden Labrador standing on the windowsill barking! You couldn't have wished for a scene more perfect. I got some great snaps!!!

We discovered a lovely little tearoom which served the most delicious pancakes and waffles! It was our breakfast and afternoon tea spot for the duration of the holiday! What I would do to have something like that near where I live! It was wonderful. The woman who owned the tearoom was lovely and had the most amazing hair!!!

We spent the weekend just looking at all the sights, doing a little shopping and eating lots of waffles and pancakes (or crepes as they are called there). Near perfection. The food was nice, I tried the mussels there. Very nice they were too! On the final night we went to a restaurant called Mojo which wasn't overly touristic. We were informed that it was where the locals ate and it certainly seem to be the case when we got there! Funnily enough, we bumped into the tearoom lady who had come with her partner. Quite random I thought!

Almost forgetting our hotel which I must NOT do! We stayed in this lovely 4* hotel. The name escapes me at the moment. But, we had the 'Romantic Garden Room' and it was exactly that! Finally a place in Europe that has a bath, not just a shower! lol! The hotel had these beautiful paintings by a lady called Minstrel, which I will look into now that I am back. They were all fantasy style paintings of fairies, ogres etc. The staff were really friendly and helpful and I can't recommend it enough.

Anyone who is looking for a beautiful romantic place must go to Bruges! It really is one of the best places I have been.

Relaxing time... Finally!

This weekend was lovely! (Apart from spending a fortune!!!) We took my friends out for a dinner on Friday to celebrate their wedding. We went to a nice little Lebanese place in Farringdon. The food was lovely, the service not so hot though. But if you read the reviews, you will see that is the case anyway, so it didn't come as a great surprise to me!

Saturday my brother and his girlfriend visited me! It was really nice to see them. We went to the cinema to watch the new Mummy film which was ok, typical blockbuster. Nothing special! Then came home and played some Mario Kart! My bf had been at the football all day and so when he came back he was a little tipsy but nowhere near what I thought he would be! Thank goodness! We ordered a take away pizza and chatted until late.

Sunday I was pretty lazy. Chilled in the house then met my bf after he finished at the gym. We did a little shopping, had a starbucks and then went to watch the new Adam Sandler film 'Don't mess with The Zohan'. It was very entertaining. A good laugh!

My week has begun pretty well - Still loving it here! Still hoping they will make me permanent!!! PLEASE! lol!

The pursuit of 'Happyness'

I am feeling pretty blah today. I was fairly happy this morning until certain people mad me feel angry! Ahhhh I give up. It's useless trying to please people sometimes. *sigh* Nothing I ever do seems right. I am always a disappointment and uninnteresting in their eyes. That's what it makes me feel like at least. I ask about a million times, are you ok? is it something I said? Shall I go out and leave you to it? Nothing seems to work! :(

My work has been the only consistent thing in my life at the moment. I am still loving it and have loads more ideas too. It's nice to think my ideas will be put into practice and that I'm learning new, interesting things every day! I feel I belong somewhere!

I am starting to wonder if I'll ever be where I want to be. I am even questioning if I should continue to pursue my hopes and dreams. They feel like they are forever in coming and the more I hope and dream for things such as love, marriage, success etc, It seems to be going to everyone BUT me! :( Thing is, you would expect there to be an issue with me! Although, I don't feel like I treat people any different! If anything I tend to be a lot nicer and loyal than most people are. I guess it allows people to walk all over me and hence why I am in this position. Maybe I need to move on to a new chapter in my life. Maybe I should begin to explore my options. It is surely a scary thought as I have a man I am in love with more than anything, but is there any point in the pursuit when the feelings are not returned (at least, not to the same level). I know he loves me, but I don't think I can ever be what he wants me to be. I just don't think I can make him fall head over heels again!

I think enough is enough in this post. I am tired and tearful... Dwelling on things is probably not the way to go, so as per usual, I shall pick myself up, dust myself doen and get on with it!!! :-(

Mamma Mia - Here I go again...

Last night turned out really well! Although I was a little paranoid about my bf. Not that I thought he was doing anything bad because I trust him, but I was more paranoid that he was still not happy with me. Turned out I was worrying over nothing as per usual!!! Oh well.

Anyway, I went to Canary Wharf to meet my friends Debi and Viv. We had lovely Pizza Express Pizzas and a bottle of vino. Followed by the 8:30pm shoing of Mamma Mia. Hah... What can I say about that film that would be useful to other cinema goers... hmmmm... If you're a man, you will hate it! It's a great girlie flick but would have been pulled off had it not been for the stars in it! The singing was awful as was the acting, but it was sooo bad in fact that I loved it and it was brilliant! ha ha! I highly reccommend it for a quiet night out with your girls. I couldn't stop laughing all the way through. Pierce Brosnan looked so uncomfortable singing (it looked like he was thinking w'what the hell am I doing in the film') as did Colin Firth! Meryll Streep was great as the mother as were her side kicks in their roles. Needless to say, I have all the ABBA songs in my head today and I've been walking along humming them like a loser! lol!

Tonight I am going out with my friend Sarah for her sisters party - the 'Binge Baby's' are reunited once again! I can't wait. I have to meet my bf a little later to go to a Toga Party (with no toga). Ahhhh the delights of a Friday night in London Town! lol!

Anywya - I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! And for my twinkers out there - I'll keep twinkling all night long lol!

Pissed off!

I am a little pissed off today as I have had a little tiff with my bf. Things have been going great until the past couple of days. He seems like he is in a constant mood and is talking to me like I am a nobody! I don't appreciate it at all. When I ask him what's wrong, he starts going on about cooking and cleaning up after me etc, but in reality, I do the same. Not the cooking as much as he seems to always take control of that, but I clean up and hover etc. I think he's totally blowing things out of proportion!

I am just hoping he will get over his problem at the moment as everything else in my life is good! Even he was 'good' until Tuesday! When am I going to be allowed my little bit of happiness? The bit where I am the important and loved one? At this rate it doesn't look like it's going to happen for a while! Am I chasing a lost cause? I hope to hell I'm not (after 5 years!).

Vent over  - I needed to get that out! I'll be fine and dandy tomorrow!
