Work and work alike!

A good day in the land of work today! I finished one of my proposals and presented it to my manager. I have high hopes of this project and I think that with my enthusiasm and drive, it will be successful and continue to be so should I leave for any reason! Leaving is really not an option for me though. I love my job and although I am only an ongoing temp, I feel like I am part of a team and the 'temp' part doesn't really exist in my head, I feel like and am treated like a full time permanent member of staff! It's quite rare in the world of temping to find an organisation like that!

I find that these days I am more stressed in my spare time than I am at work. I am having such a great time working here, it really doesn't feel like a chore! I hope my position becomes permanent. I am keeping everything crossed! Hopefully I can persuade them that I am loyal, trustworthy, hard working and dedicated! Which I am in all honesty! I have always worked hard at my previous jobs. I could never understand my redundancy as I would have been more loyal to that director than anyone else. And I'm not taking anything away from the people who worked there, but I was at that stage where I was ready to settle and develop. I chose that role over others because it was a small independent and I could really exercise my ideas and show them what I could do! I really wanted to become a big part of the business! Oh well, it's all in the past now!

Although I felt like I had taken a step backwards, joining this company has propelled me far ahead of where I was! And now I am happy in every way! Phew - It's about time!

Wonderful!!!

I've had my phone for a few days now and I am loving it. I have discovered this twitter app called twinkle which I am totally addicted to! lol! It gets methrough the bus rides to and from work. much more entertaining than reading the paper! lol! I am still looking for super cool apps so if anyone can reccommend them, please let me know! I am still totally baffled as to how the RSS feeds work on the iPhone, so any advice on that too would be greatly appreciated!

My weekend was fun packed once again! Friday I watched the Dark night and went to dinner with some friends of ours. They very kindly bought us dinner which was lovely. We decided to watch the late showing of the film, which being over 2 and a half hours was probably not the best shout in the world as we didn't get home till 1.30am/ 2am. But a great night none the less!

Saturday was spend buying a present for my friend Debi! It was her birthday dinner in the evening. My bf and I went along and we had a great time! I got a little hyper active at one point. Must have been the 70's and 80's cheese they were playing. A bit pissed off about the money we paid though. It was £20 per head and I only had 2 drinks as did my bf and I paid £77 - so someone clearly got off lightly that night!!! I'm now totally broke though which sucks. But I have my iPhone to keep me company!

Sunday was another day of dinners. We went to have Sunday lunch with my bfs family which was nice. I ate loads, but didn't feel too well. I think it had more to do with the weather though as opposed to the food! I am not that great in muggy weather, it gives me a migrane and makes me feel sick! So I spent the evening in bed catching up with the Eastenders Omnibus on the BBC iPlayer!

So that was my weekend! As far as everything else goes it all seems fine! I am loving my work and emailed my boss on Friday to tell her as much. She told me that they would probably need me for a long time which was music to my ears as I do really want to stay in my department if I can :) Things seem to be on the up! I really hope it stays like this because I feel wonderful!!!!

3G Tastic!

So here I am - Totally excited! I know I blogged the other day about getting a iPhone (second hand!), well, after a few days of exploring it, it turned out I had used all 30mb of my package despite calling Orange 3 times to confirm my usage and asking questions such as 'Does using an iPhone mean I am going to go through my data quicker?'. After not believeing them, I checked online to see for myself. No data left! Nice one Orange!!! So I called up and spoke to a very helpful man, who did all he could to make me feel better. Unfortunately, it was the last straw for me! I had, had enough! I reduced my contract to the lowest I could go and ordered a brand new 3G iPhone :) Which came this morning!

 

It's charging at the moment and I am really excited. My chip has already been activated and I have looked though all of my online services! It's a beauty I must say. It's all I have been speaking about lately - I must be so super boring lol!

 

Anyway, that's pretty much all I have been doing this week! My Dad is coming over tonight and I am excited about that too. I think he's going to love my iPhone! He might even want my spare! lol! Tomorrow I am going to dinner with friends and watching the Dark Knight! I can't wait. Excited is not the word. If I don't calm down soon, I may just have a heart attack!!! lol! Saturday it's my friend Debi's Birthday - I can't wait for that either as I haven't seen her in ages! Must get her present today! :)

 

Other things going on... well, the only other thing is work. I have my projects that I am working on at the moment and I am loving it. It doesn't feel like work it's so fun! I WISH I could be made permanent! It would just give me so much joy and top off my general good feeling at the moment! Who knows! I am going to work hard and see how things go!

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Well! I got the mighty iPhone on Thursday. I have to say I am generally impressed! It's clean and crisp appearance is very business like, but once you visit the app store and download some games etc., it is quickly transformed into a mini computer. There isn't much it doesn't do! I managed to go through 16 mb on my phone which isn't a good rate to be going at as I only have a 30 mb limit with orange. If I contine to love this phone as I do, you could see me upgrade to the new 3G version as soon as October :) NICE!!!!

 

Anyhow! Other than playing and exploring my new iPhone, I have had a couple of birthdays to go to. Both were great fun! I did get a tad tipsy on the Thursday one though. Not good. I made a bit of a spectacle of myself with my bf. But I think, he thinks it's more funny than anything else! (I sure as hell didn't! :S)

 

Thorpe Park was great fun though. Apart from getting a parking ticket first thing in the morning. Cheeky bugger only have us 3 minutes before he smacked a ticket on the car! NOT GOOD!!! I am going to call up today and find out whether it's worth contesting or not! Anyway... There was a decent froup of us at TP and Tim and Harriet also came along which was great as we haven't seen them in ages! We bought Priority Passes and managed to go on all of the main rides! :)My bf didn't want to go on the Tidal Wave one though so I went on it with Harriet. We got Soaked - Totally drenched!!! It was ace ha ha! It was lucky the weather was so noice and hot! :) I was so tired though adter that and fell asleep in the car as did everyone else. I felt bad though as my bf was driving and everyone slept on the way there too. Oops!

 

Yesterday we went out for a barbeque. It was nice. It was hot weather again and great food. Comapny was fab and I got to see my ickle cat. Sooooo cute! Once again, when I got home I was pretty knackered, so we got another early night which has set me up micely for today :)

Hot and Bothered

Yesterday was really hot and muggy here in London. I left work thinking eugh, I can hardly breathe!!! The morning  seemed fairly fresh and not that warm. So I wore a light Jumper and a pair of black trousers. When I got back to my Dad's my knee had totally swolen up and I started to feel sick. NOT GOOD!

 

I had a good night at home though talking with my Dad and Brother. My Mum is away sunning herself in Turkey and Cyprus and so I am very jealous! lol. I must go with her one year. It would be amazing! And I need to re-learn my Turkish. I have been totally slack lately. So anyway, I requested crispy Pancakes for dinner last night. I had this strange urge for them. I hadn't had them sicnce I was a kid and living in Northern Ireland. They still tasted GREAT! :) Yum...

 

My journey home was a little worrying. As well as feeling sick, I felt faint and being on my own on the tube was not great. I jumped out and grabbed a cab which cost a tenner, but it was better than my alternative!

 

Today I get my iPhone. My bf has it and I am super excited. If anyone knows of any cool things for an unlocked iPhone, please let me know :)

iPhone Update!

I have confirmed that I am going to buy the iPhone from my bf's colleague, see how I get on with that and possibly take out a new contract with O2 in November when it all runs out!

So tomorrow I should have an iPhone! I am sooooooo excited now! Yay!

iPhone Madness - O2 vs Orange

Yesterday I seemed to have gone through a day of complete madness. My bf mentioned I should probably get an iPhone over a Blackberry with some very valid reasons why. So I thought about it and decided I wanted on. But not only did I want one, I wanted it NOW!!! lol. SO I trawled the net and eventually signed up for a new contract with O2. At the poit of ordering it was in stock, however at the time of dispatch it was out of stock. Then after speaking to my boyfriend, he mentioned his friend was selling one, so I have decided to go with that one and I cancelled the contract. It *should* work out cheaper this way! :) Either way, I am getting one!

 

I do need to have a word with my provider though! They really seem to be ripping me off! I spend a fortune with them and they should really be looking after me!!! I might call them today, because even if I went for a brand new iPhone and the tariff O2 offer and reduce my Orange account to the minimum it will go, I will still save money!!! So maybe I should go with the new one! I do have to sit down and think about it.

 

I don't think the one my bf's colleague has got is brand new and so, I am thinking I should probably buy a brand new one rather than a second hand one! We'll see ;)
